Jean is a New York City-based photographer specializing in food, restaurant, and environmental portraiture photography. She loves collaborating in the studio and is also cool under the pressure of fast-moving on location shoots. Her clients include Maple Hill Creamery, Grass Fed Alliance, HelloFresh, FreshDirect, FoodKick, Eater, Uber, The New York Times, Danny Meyer Group, Altamarea Group, Wagstaff Worldwide, Quietman, Kitchn, Eat This Not That, Singani 63 and Perseus Books. She is a graduate of School of Visual Arts.
During her tenure as a staff photographer and prop stylist for Fresh Direct she toured the world (on long weekends) as an internationally competitive athlete with Gotham Girls Roller Derby and was selected twice for Team USA. She was featured in ESPN Magazine’s The Body Issue in 2011. She now coaches junior roller derby on the weekends, still plays locally, and is running her photography business.
When she’s not behind the camera she’s helping moms carry strollers up the subway stairs, sitting through the entire movie ending credits, flea market hunting or dreaming about dressing in black and collecting skulls in the desert like Georgia O’Keeffe.
